Has anyone thought why negative news on statins started pouring in after Lipitor lost patent

It can't be a mere coincidence that statins started getting negative publicity after Lipitor lost patent. Over the next couple of days, I will try to bring out when were results from some of the major trials published and what did they say about statins. Hopefully, after few days, I would have some evidence that pharmaceutical companies either ignore the severe side effects, or play down what they claim as "life saving drugs" after it has lost patent so that patients can now start relying on some of the highly priced drugs and forget about cheaper alternatives!
